Conventional plywood adhesives lean heavily on urea- and phenol-formaldehyde resins drawn from petrochemicals. As feedstock prices swing and emission rules tighten, that dependence has become both a cost risk and a compliance risk for panel makers. The PB-01 / PB-02 system was engineered as a practical answer — a bio-based chemistry that carries a real share of the bonding load rather than acting as a token “green” additive.

PB-01 supplies reactive, soya-derived functionality carried on specialised bio-based catalysts, while PB-02 is a liquid crosslinker tuned to react with the amino groups PB-01 introduces. Cured together they condense into a dense, three-dimensional polymer network — the same kind of load-bearing lattice a synthetic resin builds, but with a materially lower synthetic fraction.

Because the pair is designed around existing glue-mixing and pressing equipment, adoption does not mean re-tooling a line. Mills can trial the bio-adhesive against their current formulation, verify bond strength and emissions on their own presses, and scale the substitution as confidence grows.
